Timaya releases new music video – ‘Woyo’

Renowned songwriter, and entertainer, Inetimi Odon, popularly known as “Timaya’’ has officially released a new music video titled ‘Woyo’.

The song was produced by Orbeat, and the video was shot and directed by Unlimited LA.

Woyo was of the dancehall genre, written and performed by Timaya.

The colourful two minutes and 50 seconds video showed the self-acclaimed ‘Egberipapa1’ of Bayelsa, dancing with a walking stick and other ladies.

Timaya who was born on Aug.15 1980 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, is the founder of the defunct the South-South hip hop group “Dem Mama Soldiers’’.

His solo career began in 2005 with the release of “Dem Mama’’, which also appeared on his debut album, `True Story’ released the following year.

In 2008 he released his second album`Gift and Grace’ which won him two awards in same year “Album of the Year’’ at Nigeria Music Awards and “Best Reggae/Dancehall album’’ at the Headies Award.

The talented musician also received two awards “Best Reggae/Dancehall album’’ for Gift and Grace and “Best Collaboration’’ for his feature on J Martins’ “Good or Bad (O Wey)’’ at the 2009 edition of The Headies.

He further gained visibility and international prominence through his third studio album De Rebirth released in partnership with, Black Body Entertainment and its lead single “Plantain Boy’’ Both were commercially successful.

He collaborated with Dem Mama Soldiers on the album LLNP (Long Life N Prosperity) and in 2011 was appointed a `Peace Ambassador’ by the Interreligious and International Federation for World Peace.

In 2012, he released a 14-track album `Upgrade’ which produced hits “Bum Bum’’, “Sexy Ladies’’, and “Malonogede.”
