Bailout Fund: Ogun NULGE on war path

Governor Amosun Abiodun Onafuye/Abeokuta All is not yet settled between the Ogun state government and the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Ogun State council, as the union has challenged the government to publish details of how it expended the bailout fund from the Federal Government. Elechi Amadi; A Tribute

• Captain Elechi Amadi Wale Okediran. Although I had met him early in life through his books, my first encounter with Captain Elechi Amadi (Retd) was in the late 80s through the Association Of Nigerian Authors (ANA) which I joined after qualifying as a Medical Doctor in 1980. Coming from a purely science background like the late accomplished writer, it was Amadi and some other literary icons of his generation who warmly welcomed me into the fold of writers and made my literary take off a very smooth one. Apart from his writing, Elechi Amadi soon became a regular face at ANA Conventions where his wealth of experience and literary acumen were found very useful in a body of writers known for its sometimes restive membership. I could recollect that as far back as the 90’s, Amadi had advised the ANA to consider the Private Public Partnership (PPP) option in developing her landed property in Abuja in view of the Association’s inadequate financial and professional expertise to handle the

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had earlier on Thursday, issued Ogah a Certificate of Return, thus withdrawing the one that earlier by Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu and paved the way for the swearing in of Ogah. The action by INEC was in obedience to an Abuja Federal High Court judgment ordering Ikpeazu to immediately vacate office. In his ruling, Justice Okon Abang made a consequential order that Ikpeazu should vacate his office‎ as Abia Governor based on the discovery Ikpeazu did not pay his tax for the years 2011, 2012 and 2013, as at when due when he was a public officer. However, the inauguration could not take place because it was learnt that the state chief judge, who was supposed to have performed the function, was no where to be found. Meanwhile, Ikpeazu has obtained an ex parte injunction
