Bomb blast kills 22 during wedding

(Ihlas News Agency via REUTERS At least 22 people were killed and 94 others were injured when a bomb exploded at an outdoor wedding in southern Turkey, the provincial governor’s office said late Saturday. Gaziantep Province Gov. Ali Yerlikaya said the blast during the wedding in the city of Gaziantep, near the border with Syria, was a terror attack. Mehmet Tascioglu, a local journalist, told NTV television that the huge explosion could be heard in many parts of the city. Ambulances raced to the scene as authorities attempted to get a handle on the resulting carnage. Photos taken after the explosion showed several bodies covered with white sheets. Hoodlums attack Agidingbi residents during Isese Festival

CP Fatai Owoseni, Lagos State Police Commissioner Daniels Ekugo Violence was recorded in Agidingbi in Ojodu Local Council Development Area of Lagos State on Saturday during the celebration of the Isese festival as thugs went round the community attacking residents. The thugs also destroyed several properties in the community worth millions of Naira. According to the residents, trouble started when some youths following a masquerade attacked football fans watching the Nigeria-Honduras match at a viewing centre in the community. JAMB: The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says it was looking forward to establishing more examination centres in the Diaspora to cater for candidates willing to study in Nigeria. The board’s Head, Media and Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Lagos. According to him, the board is determined to ensure that more candidates are given the opportunity of writing the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) within and outside the country. The leadership of the Benikrukru Community in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta has insisted that Chevron Nigeria Ltd.(CNL) must halt its operation at Abiteye oil field. Dream Team Nigerians have hailed the national U-23 team, Dream Team VI, for consoling them with its 3-2 win over Hunduras to secure the football bronze medal of the ongoing Rio Olympic Games in Brazil. The U-23 team had won the men’s Olympic football gold medal 1996 in Atlanta, U.S. and took the silver at 2008 Beijing Games. Flood destroys 120 houses, farms in Jigawa

Gov. Muhammad Badaru of Jigawa State Flood have destroyed 120 houses and washed away farms and other valuables worth million of naira in Jahun Local Government Area of Jigawa. Rep. Sai’du Yusif (APC-Jahun/Miga) made the figure known to newsmen after visiting the victims to sympathise with them. Yusuf said the report received from the victims, indicated that about 120 houses, foodstuffs and other valuables were destroyed by flood. The lawmaker, accompanied by Chief Whip, Rep. Alasan Doguwa and National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) official, said he came to sympathise with the victims. Yusuf said he came in company of Alasan, who represented the Speaker, Rep Yakubu Dogara, to assess the level of damages caused by the flood for appropriate action.
