Nigerian musician, Flavour presents a N250,000 to a beneficiary

Life Continental Lager Beer, the brand that supports progress, has yet again rewarded thirty new entrepreneurs, with 7.5 million naira through the ongoing Life Progress Booster Show.

The Entrepreneurs were presented their cheques of 250,000 naira in an event held on 27 November, 2016 at the Sweet Garden, 7, Park Road, GRA, Onitsha in Anambra state.

Life Progress Booster show, an entrepreneurial talent hunt and mentoring radio programme, is targeted at helping innovative businessmen and women in the South-east.

The initiative kicked off in 2015, and the brand has rewarded 150 entrepreneurs from Nnewi, Enugu, Owerri, Aba and Abakaliki with 37.5 million Naira so far in 2016.

The Assistant Brand Manager, Regional Mainstream Brands NB Plc, Josiah Akinola noted that Life Progress Booster Show is aimed at nurturing and encouraging entrepreneurs from the South East, while also creating a platform for budding businessmen and women to present their proposals and transform their ideas to realities.

Singer and Brand Ambassador, Life Continental Beer, Chinedu Okoli popularly known as Flavour made a special guest appearance at the event to the delight of guests.

Other participants at the event were also not left out as many went away with consolation prizes such as bags of rice, gallons of oil, courtesy of Life Continental Beer.

Fire: UniJos Senate convenes emergency meeting on Monday

Fire at the University of Jos Library University of Jos is to convene an emergency senate meeting on Monday to review the level of damage done to the institution by the Saturday night inferno. The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sebastian Maimako, disclosed this on Sunday after inspecting areas affected by the incident. The fire, which lasted for more than six hours, destroyed the Library Complex that equally houses the faculties of management and social sciences. NDLEA arrests 252 suspects, seizes 3,073 kg Indian hemp

NDLEA operatives The NDLEA in Niger on Monday said that it had arrested 252 suspects and seized 3,073.9 kilogramme of Indian hemp(cannabis sativa) in the state. The NDLEA Commander in the state, Mr Joseph Iweajunwa, who disclosed this in Minna, said that the operations were carried out between January and September. “Our operations in Niger State from January to September 2016 led to the arrest of 252 suspects and seizure of 3,073.997 kilogramme of cannabis sativa,’’ he said. Iweajunwa said that within the period, the agency also seized 1, 530 litres of liquid drugs, especially cough syrup with codeine. He said the NDLEA also counselled and rehabilitated 90 drug addicts in the state within the period under review.
