Gov. Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State on Monday renewed his administration’s resolve to deliver quality and affordable healthcare services to the people.
Al-Makura gave the assurance while inspecting medical facilities at the state’s General Medical Store in Lafia.
The governor said that quality healthcare delivery to the people was one of the primary concerns of his administration.
“The state government is seriously committed to ensuring that people of the state get access to quality and affordable healthcare.
“The state government will channel more resources to the health sector and ensure the training and re-training of health workers in the state for optimum performance.
“We have declared a state of emergency on the education and health sectors; we are determined to tackle the outbreak of any epidemic for good of the people in the state,” he said.
Al-Makura said his administration would not relent in its determination to meet the needs of the people.
The governor explained that the state government would soon embark on the upgrade of existing structures at the primary health care centers across the state.
