Malam Habibu Hassan in company of his aged mother who benefitted from ophthalmological service and received free drugs also lauded the association.

A pregnant mother, Malama Bilkisu Ado, testified that she benefited from the service where she received free ante natal care and drugs.

The state Chairman of the association, Dr Ishaq Ahmed, said they were delighted to offer the services.

He explained that the association conducted the exercise to mark the Annual Health Week where a local government in the state was chosen for the exercise.

“ This year, Dawakin Tofa council emerged to be the beneficiary and next year we will move to another council until all the local governments benefit from the scheme,” he said.

The chairman revealed that many non-governmental bodies were in attendance to support the week thus commending their supports.

Ahmed said that despite non-receipt of two months salaries, the association yet provided the free healthcare to the people.

He assured the public that the association would serve the people under every circumstance and only embarked on strike when pushed to the wall.

The state chapter of the association had provided free consultation and medical services to more than 500 beneficiaries in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area during this year’s celebration.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said Congressman Marino was poorly informed about the issues he commented on, wondering why he did not take the pains to get first hand information from the US Embassy in Nigeria or any other credible source before engaging in what is nothing but a ‘propaganda of his own imagination’. The Minister said by asking the US to refrain from selling warplanes and other military equipment to Nigeria based on a faulty premise, the Congressman has demonstrated a poor understanding of global security issues. ”Insecurity anywhere i
