Accreditation and voting commenced early at most of the voting centres visited by our correspondent.
As early as 8 a.m. voters were observed going to the various polling booths to cast their votes. Electoral officials also arrived early and attended to voters who were accredited and later cast their votes.
At all the polling booths visited at Isinko, Owena Military Cantonment, Customs area along Ondo Road, accreditation and voting were simultaneously being done.
There were no reported cases of violence. Voters were observed queing peacefully to be accredited. Security was also tight.
Security checkpoints were also mounted to ensure peaceful election.
