A former Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Victor Edoror, has been suspended for three months, over an alleged financial impropriety levelled against him while in office.
Speaker of the House, Justine Okonoboh, announced the suspension of Edoror on Wednesday during plenary.
He said the suspension of the APC lawmaker who represents Esan Central Constituency, was sequel to recommendation of the ad-hoc committee report on the allegations of financial impropriety levelled against the former Speaker and his failure to appear before the committee to defend himself.
Edoror was impeached by members of the House on May 3, 2016, over alleged financial recklessness, high-handedness, dictatorial tendencies amongst others, but was later lifted on May 9, 2016, by the then Speaker of the House, Mrs. Elizabeth Aitive.
