A People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Mr Ahmed Gulak, on Wednesday appealed to Adamawa Governor, Muhammadu Bindow to return to the PDP.

Gulak, who made the overture in Yola at the inauguration of the PDP state executives, said as a former member of the party, there was nothing wrong if the governor returns.

He said that the party would continue to woo the governor as part of its strategies ahead of the elections in 2019.

“Gov. Bindow is one of us, I am pleading with him to return home now that PDP in the state has sorted out its challenges and set to take back the state by 2019”, Gulak said.

He assured that the party would also sort out its problems at the national level and strategize to spring surprise in 2019.

Gulak, a former presidential adviser, urged the new state executive under Alhaji Abdurrahman Bobboi, to carry everyone along in the journey to revive the lost glory of the party in the state.

In his speech, the National Vice Chairman North East, Amb. Emmanuel Njuwa, also urged the new executive to reconcile all members, to ensure a more united front ahead of 2019 election.

“Adamawa is a PDP state and we must do everything possible to get it back in 2019”, Njuwa said.

Bobboi thanked party members for their support and pledged that the new party leadership would reach out to all aggrieved members including those that defected to return.

“Very soon you will see wonders regarding the number of returnees we are going to receive by the end of December,” the chairman said.

According to him, the new executive was made up of credible and respected personalities committed to restoring the party’s lost glory in the state.
