The leaders of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, have honoured the Sole Administrator of Ikoyi-Obalende LCDA, Mr. Felix Goke Olawale with the National Outstanding Leadership award.

The award ceremony took place at the YMCA hall, 77 Awolowo road, Ikoyi, Lagos. Residents of Obalende trooped out to witness the event.

Speaking at the event, the national vice president of NANS in charge of special duties and awards, Comrade Oloyede Oluyomi Daniel said: “Lagosian must thank the governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode for appointing responsible, dedicated and hardworking sole administrators in all the local councils in Lagos State, among who is Mr. Felix Goke Olawale, the Sole Administrator of Ikoyi-Obalende LCDA.”

“Before we decided to honour Olawale, NANS embarked on an assessment research in all the 20 LGAs and the 37 LCDAs in Lagos State and at the end we found out that Olawale is the only LG boss that deserves the 2016 NANS hall of fame award for his open door policy, all inclusive governance and accessibility by the people.”

“We honour the sole administrator of Ikoyi-Obalende LCDA for his sportsmanship, charismatic and humane dispositions, patriotism, empowerment for youths and student’s developmental projects and his selfless service to humanity. I am now calling on the other local government leaders to emulate Olawale’s leadership qualities so as to move Lagos State to a greater height.”

This article delves into why Assad’s downfall would strike at the core of Russian prestige and what it could mean for the broader geopolitical landscape. Russia's Strategic Commitment to Syria Since the outbreak of the Syrian civil war in 2011, Russia has been a staunch supporter of Assad's regime. In 2015, Moscow launched a military intervention that proved decisive in stabilizing Assad’s hold on power. This intervention solidified Russia's role as a key power broker in the Middle East and demonstrated its willingness to project military power far beyond its borders. Syria is not just an ally for Russia; it is a...
