Ronaldo targets another 10 years in football

The Real Madrid and Portugal superstar is currently 31 but he hopes to continue playing at an elite level for another decade, such is his commitment to the sport.

Cristiano Ronaldo insists that he has no intention of retiring any time soon.

The Real Madrid superstar has tormented backlines in England and Spain during his club career, while also becoming the leading Champions League scorer.

After netting 118 goals in 291 appearances for Manchester United, the Portugal international has managed an astonishing 367 strikes in 354 games in the Spanish capital.

His career has brought four Premier League titles, one La Liga crown and three Champions League successes, and he added the European Championship with Portugal to that haul earlier this year.

And the forward’s hunger for football shows no sign of dissipating after announcing he plans to play on for another decade.

“Life is not just about football,” the 31-year-old said at the opening of his new hotel in Lisbon.

“Although football is my grand passion, I must start to think about the future.

“I don’t have many years left, about 10 more or less, so I must look to the future.”

Fire at the University of Jos Library University of Jos is to convene an emergency senate meeting on Monday to review the level of damage done to the institution by the Saturday night inferno. NDLEA arrests 252 suspects, seizes 3,073 kg Indian hemp

NDLEA operatives The NDLEA in Niger on Monday said that it had arrested 252 suspects and seized 3,073.9 kilogramme of Indian hemp(cannabis sativa) in the state. The NDLEA Commander in the state, Mr Joseph Iweajunwa, who disclosed this in Minna, said that the operations were carried out between January and September. “Our operations in Niger State from January to September 2016 led to the arrest of 252 suspects and seizure of 3,073.997 kilogramme of cannabis sativa,’’ he said. Iweajunwa said that within the period, the agency also seized 1, 530 litres of liquid drugs, especially cough syrup with codeine. He said the NDLEA also counselled and rehabilitated 90 drug addicts in the state within the period under review.
