Erediauwa, who would be crowned the 39th Oba of Benin, left Uselu at about 3:45 p.m. accompanied by a large crowd, mainly indigenes of Uselu.
He climbed a 500-year-old palm tree as part of his coronation process.
Commercial activities were paralysed along the routes he trekked through from the Benin-Lagos Road, through Lagos Street to Ekpo-Ohae at Urhokpota hall.
He moved to the `Iyan-akpan’ now known as the popular five-junction, where Chiefs from Uselu community handed him to Chiefs from Benin.
Various cultural troupes including the Iten Edo Theatre Group and Benin Royal Dynasty Trust Dance entertained as they moved with the crowd to entertainment.
