Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has declared Tuesday September 27 and Wednesday September 28 as public holidays for the conduct of the gubernatorial election scheduled for September 28.

According to the governor, the purpose of the holidays is to enable workers travel to wherever they registered as voters to exercise their franchise.

He announced the holidays at an event organised by the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress in his honour, for making the labour movement proud.

Fire: UniJos Senate convenes emergency meeting on Monday

Fire at the University of Jos Library University of Jos is to convene an emergency senate meeting on Monday to review the level of damage done to the institution by the Saturday night inferno. The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sebastian Maimako, disclosed this on Sunday after inspecting areas affected by the incident. The fire, which lasted for more than six hours, destroyed the Library Complex that equally houses the faculties of management and social sciences.
