Peter Dedevbo, the coach of the U-20 female football team, the Falconets, says he expects best performance from players invited for camping which opens on Tuesday in Abuja.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Falconets would resume camp in Abuja in preparation for the 2016 U-20 World Cup billed for Papua, New Guinea from Nov. 13 to Dec.3.
Dedevbo told NAN on Tuesday in Abuja that he was hopeful the delay in the team’s resumption of camping would not affect the performance of the players.
“I always monitor the players, who are participating actively in their various clubs; so I am optimistic that their level of fitness will be high as soon as the camp opens.
“I also expect them to be in their best behaviour, attitude and performance so that we can achieve our common goal.
“With the limited time we have, God’s willing we will be able to achieve success,’’ he said.
NAN reports that 30 players had been invited to camp in Abuja ahead of the World Cup.
The Falconets will play in group B against Spain, Canada and Japan.
The team finished second behind Germany the eventual champions in the last edition of the championship hosted by Canada in 2014.
