The deadly militant group, Niger Delta Avengers, said it destroyed pipelines belonging to Chevron on Wednesday night.

The group stated on its website that its strike team blew up Chevron pipelines between 10.50pm and 11.10pm on Wednesday.

“Between the hours of 10.50pm to 11.10pm our (Niger Delta Avengers) strike team blew up Chevron Manifolds. The manifolds are RMP 22, 23 and 24,” Mudoch Agbinibo revealed on the group’s website.

The group had so far rejected all entreaties for a ceasefire to give room for a negotiated settlement on the problems in the Niger Delta.

The group opened a new twitter account on Tuesday after its former account was suspended.

Court grants Fani-Kayode N50m bail

Fani-kayode sandwiched by EFCC officials Justice James Tsoho of the Federal High Court Abuja on Thursday granted a N50m bail to former spokesman of the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode. Fani-Kayode was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on a five-count charge of money laundering to the tune of N26m.
