Chairman of Skye Bank Plc. and NATCOM, Dr. Olatunde Ayeni has dismissed speculations that he has interest in Auctus Integrated, an oil company following speculations in some sections of the media.

Auctus Integrated is one of the companies mentioned in the $115 million bribery scam which was paid into Fidelity Bank Plc. at the instance of the former Minister of Petroleum resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison–Madueke.

In a press statement signed by Ademola Adedoyin, Special Adviser, Corporate Communications to Dr. Olatunde Ayeni, the link with Auctus Integrated was described as “unfounded and without an iota of truth.”

“Following persistent inquiries from a section of the media, we deem it fit to lay this speculation to permanent rest as our Chairman, Dr. Olatunde Ayeni, CON, has no interest whatsoever and has no link in whatever capacity with the said Auctus Integrated.”

“The attempt to link the Chairman’s name to the $115 million dollar slush fund with Fidelity Bank is not only mischievous but disingenuous handiwork of adversaries who will stop at nothing to concoct stories no matter how ridiculous about our chairman.”

“For the avoidance of doubt, we need to state it again that Dr. Ayeni is a law abiding and patriotic entrepreneur who continues to contribute to the growth of this economy and who, through business acumen and initiatives, continues to create employment opportunities to hundreds of Nigerians in the Finance, Telecommunications, Oil & Gas, Maritime and Real Estate Sectors, among others of our economy.”

“In spite of the mischief of these adversaries, Dr. Ayeni remains committed to this economy and shall continually do everything ethical and within the law to contribute his quota to its growth.”

FG berates US congressman over comment

Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture Photo: Femi Ipaye/PM News The Federal Government has described as sadly out of tune with reality the published letter from US Congressman Tom Marino to Secretary of State John Kerry, asking the US to withhold security assistance to Nigeria on the strength of some imaginary infraction by the Buhari Administration. In a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said Congressman Marino was poorly informed about the issues he commented on, wondering why he did not take the pains to get first hand information from the US Embassy in Nigeria or any other credible source before engaging in what is nothing but a ‘propaganda of his own imagination’. The Minister said by asking the US to refrain from selling warplanes and other military equipment to Nigeria based on a faulty premise, the Congressman has demonstrated a poor understanding of global security issues. ”Insecurity anywhere i

Gabon have also named Sunderland midfielder Didier Ndong despite the player being left out of November’s World Cup qualifier in Mali. But a remorseful Ndong, who held clear-the-air talks with Fegafoot has been included in a 23-man Panthers squad. Other names to make the final party include Juventus midfielder Mario Lemina, Bruno Ecuélé Manga of Cardiff City and China-based striker Malick Evouna.
